Acrylic resins are made by copolymerizing (meth) acrylates with other vinyl monomers. Acrylic resin light color, good transparency; strong weather resistance, resistance to ultraviolet light is not easy to decompose or yellow, good light and color retention; at 170 ℃ does not decompose, does not change color, at about 230 ℃ or higher temperature still does not change color. Acrylic resin coating has good acid, alkali, salt, grease, detergent and other chemicals contamination and corrosion performance, and excellent construction performance. Acrylic resin coatings are the mainstream products in industrial coatings, and the largest market is car coatings.

 

In addition, acrylic resin coatings are widely used in light industry, home appliances, metal furniture, aluminum products, coil industry, instrumentation, construction, textiles, plastic products, wood products, paper and other industries. Acrylic resin has become one of the backbone resins in China's coating industry. Although acrylic resin has many of the above advantages, so that it is widely used, but the performance is still not up to its expectations. For example, the critical surface tension of acrylic resin is medium and high in coating resin, reaching 41 mN/m, which is much higher than that of fluorocarbon resin (such as the critical surface tension of PTFE is mN/m), poor water repellency, poor corrosion resistance, and poor weather resistance. Modified with fluorine materials, hoping to further improve the quality of acrylic resin, continue to expand its use, is one of the important topics in the field of paint research.
